Prizefighter champ Prince Arron claims British title - 13/05/2011
MANCHESTER man stops Sam Webb in Gillingham
Prizefighter light-middleweight champion Prince Arron stopped Sam Webb in the final round at the Medway Park Leisure Centre in Gillingham on Friday night to taking Webb’s British title live on Sky Sports.
Arron, 23, won the tenth edition of Prizefighter in February 2010 and adds the British belt to the trophy after a fine performance in Webb’s backyard. The Mancunian challenger was largely on the back foot for the opening third of the fight, but sprung into life in the fifth round and floored the 30 year-old. Webb looked down and out but got back to his feet and withstood a further barrage to last the round and take it into the latter stages.
But a minute from the final bell, Aaron dropped Webb against and then backed him into the corner, landing punches at will before the referee stopped the contest.
